Beijing Hotel, Beijing, PR China (2002) |
This fountain is located in the new addition to this century old hotel. We were contracted to assist in the Jumping Jet portion of this extensive fountain, designed by City Lights of Beijing. The Jumping Jets are mounted to the ceiling of the floor below and shoot thru bored holes with brass collars.
Laminar streams of water leap from brass collars set in the fountain basin to disappear in similar stainless steel catch screens, giving the fountain an almost "alive" appearance. A total of nine Jumping Jets chase each other and create playful patterns. The leaping water is very attractive to children and grown-ups alike. Working in conjunction with City Lights Fountains of Beijing, we designed and installed the Jumping Jet portion of this fountain. |
