Located in Chapman University's new Global Citizen's Plaza, this fountain includes a stainless steel globe that rotates once a minute (driven by a submerged stepper motor) and is covered by water flow. The globe is polished and is intended to reflect it's surroundings, which include several national flags in the plaza (note, the flags are not yet installed, watch this page for updated photos and description).
Lighting for the globe is by submersible MR16 fixtures with special lamps from GE that have a wide enough beam angle to illuminate the whole globe. The weir is lit by a custom LED strip light mounted in the annular drain / grate surrounding the fountain.
The globe and granite were sourced from China. The weir surround is solid granite.
